CDI was retained to perform design and construction administration for rail construction in service of a new ethanol facility. This project included the installation of six spur tracks in connection with the Rapid City & Pacific Eastern mainline for a total of 12,600 track-feet of new rail. Special consideration and coordination was required with the other shippers in Onida to ensure that all shippers could manage cars and movements without interference.
Along with railroad expertise, CDI performed analysis and prepared permits for noncontact cooling water discharge and piping. Completion is expected in 2017 with a total project cost of $5.08 million.
