SDSU Rotunda Lane & Dairy Microbiology Parking Lot
Engaged by SDSU to create a two-phase enhancement and expansion of parking around the Dairy Microbiology Building in 2011, this project extended from the south end of Sexauer Field to the Animal Science Building. This project encompassed the redesign of three parking areas, from the Dairy Microbiology Building north to the south side of North Campus Drive.
CDI incorporated special provisions into the design to manage storm water and allow for access of semi-truck tankers that deliver milk to the Dairy Processing Facility. CDI successfully handled additional challenges involving subsurface soils and unforeseeable utilities encountered during construction.
Construction took place in one of the busiest areas of campus and included incorporation of new security lighting standards developed during the design of the Southeast Residential Community Parking Development project. Landscape and electrical design completed the overall package. The resulting project successfully supplied additional parking and enhanced access to the northwest area of campus.
