Camelot Square Drainage Improvement
Civil Design Inc was chosen by the City of Brookings to conduct a hydraulic analysis on the Squire Court storm sewer and drainage systems as part of the City of Brookings Master Drainage Plan. XPSWMM was used to model the existing stormwater flows, determine problem areas and present solutions to the City of Brookings, to assist the City in relieving flooding through the neighborhood.
After review of the preliminary findings and recommendations, the City elected to move forward with the first of a two phase construction project, that included installing a new large dimension, precast box culvert in the street, large diameter reinforced concrete arch pipe behind the curbs, storm sewer curb inlets, upgrading existing piping and area inlets outside the rights-of-way and regarding of existing drainage swales to improve flow characteristics through the neighborhood.
Due to the Contractor’s aggressive construction schedule, Phase I of this project was substantially complete by the fall of 2012, with minor items to be completed in the spring of 2013. The project was completed under the contract budget amount.
CDI provided hydraulic analysis, preliminary and final designs, held public informational meetings for the neighborhoods, provided all topographic and construction surveying, construction observation and project management services for Phase I of this project.
